UnequipItem Note

For the record, I don't find the wording particularly clumsy or awkward. Seems like a good note to me!
DragoonWraith · talk · 13:18, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Ok, thanks DragoonWraith. I often find that my explanations tend to be clunky, and I don't know how to explain it any better. It's good to know that this one makes sense! Cipscis 14:16, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Kudos

Just wanted to thank you for the work you've been putting in. Every bit helps!

Thanks man, I really appreciate that. I'm glad that I feel experienced enough this time around to feel confident enough to add to the Wiki.

crazy kiwi

Your country is amazing and I wish I could go back there tomorrow.
Done any tramping recently? Or is that not your thing? (Is that even possible in that country?)
--Quetzilla 12:10, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Oh, you've been here before then? I've done a bit of tramping before, but not for quite a while. In January 2006 I did a three week Outward Bound course in Anakiwa that involved a couple of long hikes (2-3 days), but I haven't been able to do any since then as I don't often visit areas that are good for hiking.
Most of my outdoor activities involve the ocean. I often go with my family to our bach at Oakura (<-- warning, photos of me as a child) where we go kayaking, boating and sailing. We have a

That last bit got cut off it looks like :P
Yeah, I was down there in 2000. Did kind of a tour of the country, although some of the names escape me. We went up to the northern point area, did a Hangi dinner, the name Rotorua sounds familiar. We did noob sea kayaking on the Abel Tasman coast (my favorite part). We also did the Routeburn trail down in that crazy unexplored south area. Skiing at Queenstown. Farmstay in Christchurch (If there's one thing I'll never forget, it's the pits of sheep corpses all over lol).
I was a big fan and I want to go back eventually, maybe to stay.

Oops, I was going to say that we have a two person catamaran, three single kayaks and one double kayak, and a boat big enough for the five of us. We rent the place out for most of the year , but the guests usually only get access to the kayaks.
So you visited in 2000 eh? I must have been around 12 years old then, lol. I've lived in Auckland all my life, but I've got relatives all over the country so I've managed to see a decent amount of it. I'm going town to my uncle's farm tomorrow (or later today, if you want to be technical about it) for Christmas, but I forget just where it is. I haven't visited them there in years so I'm really looking forward to it.
Are you sure it's not the smell of Rotorua that you remember? That's what it tends to be known for, unfortunately. Whereabouts in the world do you live at the moment?

Currently... Pittsburgh. The housemates (who mostly stay in their rooms all day anyway) are gone for winter break, so now I'm here in an empty house. And sick.
Pittsburgh is actually a pretty interesting place (BGS did pick it for DLC location -- over New York!). But it's not where I want to spend too many more years of my life.
Auckland was pretty cool, camped out in a... sheep farm, just outside the city, when we first flew in there. So many sheep in your country :P.
--Quetzilla 13:20, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Pittsburgh, eh? Any plans to mod your house into Fallout 3 once The Pitt is released then? I suppose considering the fact that it's winter over there and you're sick then I really shouldn't rub it in that it's summer here and I'm going up to the beach in a few days, lol.
Yeah, we've certainly got a lot of sheep here. As of May 2007 I think the ratio was about 10 sheep per person, lol.
-- Cipscis 13:32, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Really? That low? I thought it was 30:1.
And actually, I went there during my summer, so I'm down a summer compared to the average northern hemispherite, and up a winter.
--Quetzilla 13:36, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, people often just make up a number like that on the spot to tell you I think. Here's my source if you're interested - Sheep Myth.
It sounds like you're about due for a good old New Zealand summer to even things up a bit, lol.
-- Cipscis 13:55, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
From the looks of that article, it may actually have been true... in 2000 :P.
What still boggles my mind is the idea of Christmas in the summer. It's just beyond conception for an ideal Christmas to be anything other than snowy, accompanied by wood fires and all that.
--Quetzilla 14:06, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
You think? I've always associated Christmas with Summertime - going to the beach, eating dinner outside and stuff like that. After all, it's so much easier to enjoy a holiday when it's nice out!
-- Cipscis 14:13, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
Do you guys do... Christmas Trees?
