User talk:Gozolo/Barter System

Hi Gozolo, Welcome to the Wiki!

That's useful information, but its not at the right place. It should be integrated with the Wiki.

The first part explains the gamesettings that affect the barter system. It would be best to list the settings here and link to a new page that explains the barter settings. Just like all other settings. If you need any help with the templates there I'd be happy to help.

The second part explains your experience with ShowBarterMenu. That should really go to the discussion page of ShowBarterMenu, as it discusses that article. Since you don't know exactly how it works I wouldn't recommend editing the article directly. But maybe removing the note is appropriate, as you've at least established that it isn't (always?) true.

Thanks for doing this, and posting it at the Wiki. Let me know if the above sounds right so we can move this to the right place.

Thanks for the information. I created the post long ago with words 'I'm new to wiki CMS, and if a moderator finds it (article) helpful, then we could make it fit better in the site hierarchy.' or something like that, but noone replied for a long time so I posted it like this.

Any help in posting it correctly is appreciated. Like I mentioned I'm not good in this CMS, but will do my best.

I added the first part - Barter System Formula.

Should I post examples there?

I indented the previous comments once more than the comment you were replying to. That's to keep track of who's replying to which comment. In this case not very important, but very useful in discussions.
If I had noticed your post back then I would have replied. It seems like you've done pretty good though. The barter settings page you created looks good. The only thing it lacks is a < Settings link. I'll add that. I think adding the examples there wouldn't hurt.

I suppose you meant the reply should look like 'this'. There was no trouble creating a 'barter page'. Actually, I was just waiting for some kind of permission to create it. Because I didn't know whether or not one could just storm in adding pages where they wanted to. And I'm glad that the project isn't stagnating. Cheers.

P.S. I removed the link to this page from the 'Unofficial Tutorials'.

The Wiki is usually a bit daunting at first. That's why the Wiki motto is: be bold! If you think you have something to add, then go for it. Changes can be reversed and pages can be removed. As long as your intentions are good we're happy with everything you do. Even if we would rather have it a different way. All this doesn't make it much easier to attract new editors though, everyone is not as bold as we wish they would be. (This is just as much directed at everyone else as it is to you.)
To remove the whole page you only have to add {{afd}} at the top, and GStaff will remove it. But you may want to copy the examples before you do.

I get your point. I think I can handle that. There's no hurry in removing 'this' page, I suppose, since nothing links here it won't be misleading. I will integrate the rest of the info into wiki later and MarkForDelete it thereafter.
Best regards
