Problem with confirming email address[edit source]

I've created an account, typed in my email address on the "My preferences", and have tried to tell that page to email me when changes are made to the pages I'm watching. Unfortunately, above the check boxes for what you want to get email about, I have the message "Your e-mail address is not yet authenticated. No e-mail will be sent for any of the following features." Immediately below that is a link called "Confirm your e-mail address".

That link takes me to a page where the first line is "A confirmation code has already been e-mailed to you; if you recently created your account, you may wish to wait a few minutes for it to arrive before trying to request a new code." Well, I created my account weeks ago and I have not yet received a confirmation email or code. Luckily, there's a button at the bottom of that page that says "Mail a confirmation code". When I click on that, I get the message "Confirmation e-mail sent." I dutifully wait days to recieve such an email yet none is forthcoming. I have checked the email address listed in the "My preferences" page several times, so I know that's not the problem. Can someone help me figure out how to confirm my email address so that I can start getting notices?

Thanks,

It seems you've checked your email address adequately, so the problem should be elsewhere. Did you check your spam folder, maybe you received it there? And you may want to try another email address. If everything fails, contact Bethesda about the problem. Be sure to use the email address you wish to have authenticated in the contact form.

Yep, I've checked the spam folder too. Nada. I'll try changing the email address and see if that does anything. Servius 15:56, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
