Automagically
The use of the aforementioned word has my wholehearted approval.

Useful is Useful
Tell me this isn't the best function ever? (coming from oblivion modding) --Quetzilla 01:53, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
- Wow. That's pretty flippin' sweet. You say the Oblivion modders came up with this? Way to go Bethesda for taking their advice! Hpfreak26 01:58, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
- Er, no what I meant was, Oblivion modders would have died for a function like this. They did incorporate several OBSE commands into their vanilla commands tho, not that *anyone* is complaining about that.

- Oh, okay. Yeah, I guess the standard was raised after the community put together OBSE, so Beth. had to raise the bar. I'm sure that potential with both the vanilla commands and FOSE(?) will be outstanding. Hpfreak26 02:55, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed, much awesome.

Uncertainity on Weapon Reference
I just got the game today and haven't had a chance to crack it open, so I need to ask for confirmation - Pistol12 looks like a base object editorID. If I can assume some Oblivion rules, that parameter only takes base objects (objects), no references (objects placed in the game world), and certainly not weapon types (ranged, melee).
--Haama 04:01, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
- Impossible to tell from the example - Pistol12 is not a base object (weapons are usually named WeapPistol12 or similar). So they might mean a ref or an object. But yes, you need to know the object to use. FOSE commands will let us easily check for the weapons they have, but until then gotta be psychic.

Melee Weapons
How does this function work with melee weapons or unarmed combat if the target is too far away? Will the attacker swing his/her weapon in the direction of the target or will he/she run up to the target? --Axussriddare 16:31, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
